The program aims to promote the culture of innovation and transform it into a daily practice in the government work environment that contributes to multiplying the impact of innovation and translates the new directions of the government innovation framework by building the capabilities of government cadres and providing them with tools to enhance the UAE's leadership and make it a global center for innovation

The program covers 5 training tracks over 6 months, during which participants work on 60 projects, including individual projects to create solutions to challenges faced by their employers, group projects to support the achievement of the priorities of the UAE Vision 2031, and the design of the next big innovative project in the UAE.
Her Excellency Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, emphasized that the Government Innovation Diploma reflects the strategic visions of the UAE government under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to bring about a comprehensive transformational change in the government system, based on innovation as a driving force to achieve further progress and an incubating environment to design the future.
The launch of the eighth batch of the diploma emphasizes the government's keenness to sustain innovation by preparing innovative minds, qualifying new generations of innovation executives and future leaders, providing them with modern knowledge, and enabling them to create impactful solutions that reflect positively on society, she said, noting that strengthening the UAE's leadership on the global stage and supporting its quest to become one of the most innovative countries in the world is largely related to its ability to promote innovation in various fields, including government work.

The diploma seeks to empower government innovation leaders with the necessary expertise, skills and tools to lead transformative and innovative projects within their organizations, contributing to achieving a positive impact on government work, developing a network of innovation leaders in various entities, promoting cooperation and knowledge exchange, and inspiring participants to develop innovations with tangible impact that address current challenges, anticipate future changes, and drive government work to achieve its strategic goals.
The program includes 5 courses and a knowledge visit to Cambridge University in the UK. The first course focuses on the importance of redesigning focus areas, understanding non-traditional solutions and their role in innovation, learning to formulate and reframe issues from different angles, and analyzing the perspectives, evaluation and implementation of the innovative idea in the workplace.

The second course deals with the idea generation process, tools for developing creativity and storytelling and their role in providing innovative solutions, while the third course discusses adaptation, effective design, and strategic planning for innovation.
The fourth course focuses on the effective evaluation of solutions, the ability to adapt to future requirements and changes, addressing the challenges associated with abandoning traditional methods and finding more effective alternatives, and managing relationships to stimulate a culture of innovation.
