Synthetic Memories is a first of its kind initiative in the region, developed in partnership with Emirates Health Services, and Spanish innovation studio Domestic Data Streamers. The project explores how generative AI can be used to reconstruct lost memories through culturally and historically accurate visual content, providing a form of reminiscence therapy for Emirati Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
By developing a localized AI tool trained on UAE-specific references, the initiative not only supports emotional well-being and cognitive function but also creates a unique record of the nation’s history as remembered by those affected by memory loss.
